Spicy Soy Sauce Dressing

Ingredients

  • Soy Sauce1 cup
  • Gochugaru2 tbsp
  • Garlic, minced3–4 cloves
  • Scallions, chopped2
  • Red Onion, finely diced¼ cup
  • Shishito or Jalapeño, sliced1
  • Fresno Pepper, sliced1
  • Brown Rice Syrup or Maple Syrup2 tbsp
  • Rice Vinegar1 tbsp
  • Mirin1 tbsp
  • Black Pepper1 tsp
  • Ground Turmeric½ tsp

Method

  1. Whisk. In a small bowl, whisk together all ingredients until combined.
  2. Store. Transfer to a covered container and refrigerate for up to 1 month. Shake well before each use.
💡 Serve with Dooboo Jeon (Tofu Cakes), drizzle over rice, beans, or roasted veg, or use to braise tofu. Takes 15 minutes and lasts weeks — make a full batch and use it constantly. Gochugaru is Korean red pepper flakes, found at Asian grocery stores.
