Side · Bread · Quick
Ingredients
- Baguette1
- Butter, melted3 tbsp
- Goat Cheese, grated3 tbsp
- Garlic Cloves3
- Anchovies½ fillet
- Saltpinch
- Cayennedash
- Paprikadouble dash
Method
- Make the butter. Using a mortar and pestle (or the flat of a knife), crush the garlic cloves and anchovy together with a pinch of salt until a smooth paste forms.
- Combine. Add the garlic-anchovy paste to the melted butter along with the cayenne, paprika, and grated goat cheese. Mix thoroughly until everything is incorporated.
- Spread and bake. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread the butter mixture generously over the cut sides. Bake at 350°F until golden and crispy on the edges.
💡 The anchovy disappears into the butter and just reads as deep savouriness — no fishy taste. The goat cheese adds a subtle tang that makes this more interesting than standard garlic bread. Don't skip the paprika.
